Unfortunately, it is useless to shoot normally, as the opposing goalkeeper will stop everything, so we are obliged to use a special shot, something that contributes to the games ending up being monotonous. This time we have full control over the players (unlike in the DS titles) and can pass, shoot, cut, mow or execute the famous super-techniques, which are now more protagonists than ever – in fact, they are so crucial that you can’t win games without them.

In this aspect we are facing an epic game, something that can only be felt if one has been a big fan of Oliver and Benji during childhood. And the thing is that when I started playing Inazuma Eleven Strikers, the first thing I felt was a huge envy towards the eight or nine-year-old kids who, being staunch fans of anime, have the possibility of taking command, becoming their favorite characters and executing Spectacular shots, impossible saves and even joining the forces of the entire team to defeat opponents that at first seemed invincible. Those of us who are older and in our thirties would have given anything to enjoy an Oliver and Benji video game that faithfully recreates the series. The best thing about Inazuma Eleven Strikers is that now the encounters are more faithful to anime than ever. It is a matter of changing the chip and mentalizing that we are facing a kind of Mario Strikers, only … not so good.

Instead we can play friendlies, tournaments, mini-games and create our own club, the latter being the most interesting mode and close to what a story or race would be. No story, no exploration, and no dialogue.

This time we are facing a real football arcade in which we only play matches against other teams. But this Inazuma Eleven Strikers for Wii (one of the last games to come out for the Nintendo desktop) is something totally different from the previous ones. His original mix of role-playing and soccer has managed to captivate both players and critics, achieving great success around the world. Any RPG fan knows the Inazuma Eleven from Nintendo DS.
